Marker Goldsmith Philanthropy Advisors was created in 2002 as a merger of our two distinct but overlapping professional practices. Richard Marker is a widely recognized philanthropy advisor and lecturer about trends in the field of philanthropy; Mirele Goldsmith is a highly sought-after evaluator. Our expertise is in strategic grantmaking, funder education, intergenerational and succession strategies for family foundations, and program evaluation. We only accept contracts in the areas about which we feel there is a significant value added by our experience and expertise.
Previous visitors to this site will notice some differences. Over the past several years, we have become much more focused in what we do, what we won’t do, and in recognizing which kinds of clients are most appropriate to utilize our services.
We do have a distinctive combination of skills and background: we are funders ourselves; we sit on numerous non profit boards. We are educators about philanthropy in settings around the United States and elsewhere. And we have worked with countless funders in helping them implement their own philanthropic goals in a most effective and meaningful way.
We are proud that so many private philanthropists, foundations and non profit organizations have chosen to use our services over the years. It has reassured us of the distinctiveness of our approach and of the need for the philanthropy advisory services we provide. Our experience spans the North American continent and many other countries. We pride ourselves in our commitment to the highest standards in practice, ethics, and performance. We believe that the philanthropy and voluntary worlds, which includes both grantmaking and not-for-profit organizations, represents a distinct and vital sector. Our quality of life depends on the success and creativity of this segment of society and we cherish helping so many individuals, foundations and organizations fulfill their potential.
We invite you to peruse our site to better understand our experience and our competencies, and look forward to hearing from you if you feel we can be of assistance.
